George Remus a famed bootleg king shoots wife Imogene Holmes Remus at Eden Park in Cincinnati. Mrs Remus is taken to hospital in critical condition with little hope of recovery as divorce hearings loom after prior convictions and a long crime history.
In Cincinnati on October 6, the beleaguered bootleg king George Remus remains philosophical after his wife Ozene Remus dies from a bullet wound. Reporters find him in his cell pounding his fist as they announce her death, and he quietly replies that it is the penalty for opposing societal norms.
Ruth Remus, aged 18, fled with her mother from the Alms Hotel toward Eden Park, as Remus followed them in a frantic pursuit described by the mother as lunatic behavior. They headed to the attorney’s office amid the opening stages of a divorce case.
The body of a about thirty years old woman was found on West Gach at Archwood Avenue this morning. She wore expensive garments and beads, and coroner Miles Perry suspects murder though no signs support it yet. Post mortem to follow for clues.
Lorain police arrested Mayurkiewicz, 402 W 18th Lorain, for possession of intoxicating liquor in a dry raid. She was taken to the county jail for arraignment in common pleas court.

A national committee source says the plan is to return home and push favorite sons and uninstructed delegations to the next convention with no public ticket boom. If the convention reaches the sixth or seventh ballot without a nomination fireworks may follow.
Isaac Feeman and Spiritt Amberat were arrested by Sheriff Mathews and Deputy Ives about twelve days ago. They were tried in Judge W B Thompson's court today for possession of liquor and Feeman was found guilty and fined $100 plus costs. Feeman denied ownership while witness testimony indicated liquor belonged to him.
In Lorain on October 6 Sheriff E G Mathews and Lorain Chief Theodore Walker promised to aid state prohibition inspector O E Rankin in carrying out dry raids. They said they would continue help after Rankin used a tear bomb to disperse a crowd during a search.
The Lorein Ash land and Southern railway suit against Elyria Construction Co. opened in Judge A R Webber's court. The railroad seeks 1657 for demurrage on a Pittsfield township siding during September to November 1925, the first civil case tried this term.
About 40,000 troops from Fengtien in the north and Shansi in the south clashed near Cheng ting along the Pekin Hankow railway, 157 miles from Pekin. The fight, seen as a potential turning point, prompted strengthened city guards while the foreign office claimed Pekin remained safe. Chang fso-iin led the northern army and provided protection along the fronts.
