Neighbors rally after fatal crash injures boy
Eleven year old Brandon Melvin suffers a broken leg and broken toes when a van driven by a man in medical distress crashes into the Melvin home on Lake Breeze Road. Kaine Black escapes uninjured as Brandon’s parents Curtis and Barbara are also unharmed. Relatives mourn Tony Cushing who died in the crash fire. Cushing, 62, was a machinist and bluegrass guitarist.

Eight adults aboard a Murray Ridge Center bus were treated after a pickup truck struck the vehicle on Butternut Ridge Road at Oberlin Elyria Road. The riders were transported to EMH Regional Medical Center and Mercy Allen Hospital. five were released with no serious injuries.

Ganley denies sexual harassment claims in suit
Elyria Chronicle Telegram reports GOP candidate Tom Ganley called allegations of sexual harassment and assault by a 39-year-old Cleveland woman politically motivated. The lawsuit, filed last week and amended Monday, accuses Ganley of sexually charged overtures after meeting at a July 3, 2009 tea party rally while he seeks to unseat U S Representative Betty Sutton. He declined further comment, citing lawyer guidance.
