Funds inadequate for street cleaning department

The city council reported funds are insufficient for street cleaning and related services. Superintendent Conahee warned that the street cleaning, street repair, and sewer funds need additional money before January 1 to handle ongoing leaf and debris work and any remaining wire repairs. City council debates gas shutoff protest plans

Councilman Amilress protested Citizens Gas and Electric Co for shutting gas from 12m to 5 pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays until further notice. He urged filing a protest with the gas company but the council referred the matter to the gas committee.
