Judges Question To Go On Ballot In Ohio
Ohio voters likely to decide in November whether to switch from elected to appointed judges on the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. The measure, sponsored by the Ohio Committee on Judicial Selection, would create a judicial council and require gubernatorial appointment with Senate confirmation from a candidate pool. If adopted, current judges may run again in elections after six years or face retention votes.
