Court Rejects Toledo Suit Over Police Crash Cover-Up
A federal appeals court in Cincinnati on Wednesday upheld a lower court ruling dismissing Robert Kelso and his wife’s claims that Toledo police conspired to hide evidence that off duty officer Timothy Noble might have been drunk when his minivan crashed into Kelso’s car in May 1994. The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals found no evidence of a city or police policy to cover up the crash and noted the jury already awarded compensatory damages with no punitive damages.
