In Philadelphia on October 2, William Zebulon Foster, leader of the striking steel workers, was denounced as a dangerous domestic enemy by United States Circuit Judge Buffington. The session, led by Judge Buffington and Det. Motrig, warned citizens to beware of agitators teaching anarchic doctrines, labeling Foster a threat from the foreign-born element and a parlor Bolshevist who preaches discord and unrest.

The Lorain county WCTU annual convention will be held at the Matho Mist church in Amherst on Friday for an all day session with Mrs. Florence D Richards state president delivering an address. Miss Beryl Kuss hosted a miscellaneous shower for Miss Alma Davis on Lincoln street. Alma Davis luncheon followed. Delig Williams tribute held at Wm Coburn home with Rev A A Hunter officiating. Mrs F B Kaser sang two solos with Mrs Meetra Norton on piano. Remains buried at Cleveland Avenue cemetery. Mr and Mrs Peter Becker welcomed a daughter born Tuesday morning. Hamilton Hay bought a home on Franklin avenue from J A Plato.
The Bethlomes purchased the home of the Bunns in South Amherst and plan to move in soon after Bunn relocates from Tenney Avenue. The Mothers Circle will meet at Mrs. Hoffner's home on Church Street Friday afternoon Oct 10. R E Steele of San Francisco visited his cousin Mrs H N Steele and family. Wm Kepp Jr injured a finger at work in No 6 quarry on Tuesday.
The Ladies Aid society will be entertained at the home of Mr and Mrs Chas Schalbis on Thursday October 2. Mr and Mrs A W Rabi and son Lekov of Amherst visited with PF Baltenhaus and family. Rev F Handke and family were guests. Lucile Baus returned home after two weeks in Detroit. George Snyder and son Vittor left for Dubuque after three weeks with Jacob Bechtel. Mrs Karl Benfels of Amherst spent a few days last week nearby.
A Cleveland visit extended weekend as Mr and Mrs Harold Handke stayed with Rev and Mrs Handke. The Battenhous family and friends from South Almhurst joined Mrs Bechtel and others on the Ridge for Sunday activities. A wrist fracture occurred to one man while cranking a car and Bible classes held a quarterly meeting at Frank Hall's home with about 30 in attendance.
