Betty Bishop a dance teacher shaping Elyria youth
A memoir pieces together Betty Bishop’s impact on Elyria dance students from the 1930s to her death in 1967. The piece recounts her early life, school recitals, and studio on Broad Street, noting students who credit Betty with confidence and lifelong dance, along with the 1967 Yankee Clipper Inn tragedy that claimed her and her sister Budd.
