Hawkins sisters arson trial opens in Oberlin case
Fourteen-year-old Diana Hawkins faces aggravated murder charges over the July 9 fire that killed her father, with prosecutors alleging both sisters acted in concert. Lora Hawkins, 16, is alleged to have inspired the act, while Diana’s confession and a defense bid to suppress it shaped an opening that noted a troubled biracial bond and family rifts. The trial, delayed by a suppression ruling, is expected to run through Monday.
