A meeting at the Holiday Inn initiated the formation of a citizens committee to back a proposed 1 percent city income tax. Mayor Reichlin outlined the tax and its use if approved in November. Otto B. Schoepfle was named president pro tem and plans to form a full committee with private citizens and officials serving in advisory roles.
