Ohio bar exam raises passing score to 405 in 1997
Based on bar examiners board recommendations the court increased the passing score from 375 to 385 in 1996 and to 405 in 1997. The two and a half day exam, given twice yearly, uses multiple choice and essays. After the 405 threshold there is concern that tougher standards may reduce lawyer numbers as Ohioans legal needs remain unmet.
