Mrs. A. L. Garford Dies in Pasadena After Long Life
Mrs. Arthur Garford, long Elyria resident with winters in Pasadena, passed away last evening in Pasadena. Born July 17, 1858, she was daughter of Thomas Lothrop and Mary Louise Moody Nelson, educated at Elyria High, Oberlin, and Wellesley. She married Arthur Lovett Garford in 1881 and supported church and missionary work. Survived by daughters Mrs. James B. Thomas and Mrs. Emmanuele Tavagnino, and grandson Arthur Garford Lavagnine. burial planned in Elyria. Her father founded a bank later becoming Savings Deposit Bank and Trust, and he was a prominent local business figure.
