A New Jersey jury was selected in about an hour for the murder trial of Mrs. Margaret Lilliendahl and Willis Beach, charged with killing William Lilliendahl. Forewoman Carrie L. Calkins, Atlantic City, sat with her 11 year old son Alfred beside her as the panel was questioned and seated. Prosecutor S. Cameron Hinkle began with the indictments after swift voir dire, the trial opening in courtroom Maylsd ing, N. J. on Nov 28.

New Federal Tax Bill Nears Completion
Washington Nov 28 The two percent reduction in the federal income tax for all corporations will take effect on payments due next March. The House Ways and Means Committee, by a party line 13 to 10 vote, rejected a Democratic bid to delay the cut until 1929. Democrats argued corporations already collected the tax from consumers and cannot be passed back. The committee also voted to reduce the insurance tax from 12 1/2 to 11 1/2 percent, with other corporate rates unchanged. Chairman Green said the panel would wrap up work on the bill Thursday or Friday.
