Utah County sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Cannon said John Jones, 26, of Stansbury Park, became stuck about 700 feet into Nutty Putty cave in an L shaped chamber called Bob's Push. After 19 hours upside down, Jones was freed from the narrow space but remained in a confined area as rescuers worked with air powered tools and water to support him. Medical staff warned of possible headaches confusion and fatigue after prolonged inversion. The cave, privately owned and accessible by permit, was nearly sealed after a 2004 rescue but a gate was installed to limit entry.
