Linda Sharpe found safe after 1000 mile abduction

Miss Teen America Crown Goes To Anchorage Teen
Leslie Griffiths, 15, daughter of former Elyria resident David E. Griffiths, was crowned Miss Teenage America 1978. She attended Bartlett High School in Anchorage, earning a $15,000 college scholarship and a $5,000 personal appearance guarantee. Her father, who moved from Elyria in 1947, works as a petroleum engineer for Atlantic Richfield Co. in Alaska.
