London church leaders warn of rising occult interest as more people dabble in fortune telling seances and witchcraft in the capital. A London suburb coven led by Mrs Eleanor Bone holds monthly fire dances while police note some members are respectable local businessmen.
A federal suit filed in Cleveland seeks 1,025,000 against 11 Lorain officials led by Mayor Woodrow W. Mathna. Plaintiff Robert Vieta Sr. and wife Shirley accuse a conspiracy to discredit them to aid Mathna's re election. Named are Police Chief John Malinovsky former Safety Director Joseph Price Welfare Director Gerard Prinz Frank Haberman and several civil service Commission members.
A special grand jury indicted 31 people at Lima State Hospital for the Criminally Minded, with 25 arrested including hospital workers Taunton Davis and Laura Biglow. Charges include torturing patients and sodomy. Gov. Gilligan ordered the probe last September. The report notes additional arrests and ongoing investigations.
A cattle-hauler crash on the Ohio Turnpike near Amherst left one driver injured and 17 cattle killed. State patrol used heavy chains and persuasive methods to lift and remove the 18 surviving head from the trailer and back up the embankment.
Indian Prime Minister Gandhi and government spokesmen said Indian troops have orders to cross into Pakistan in self defense and that they already did so on at least one occasion. Pakistan reports claim heavy fighting with Mukti Bahini and air clashes over East Pakistan.

Clyde City Council on a 3-2 vote hired Lorain Mayor Woodrow Mathna as the new city manager but Mathna questioned if the job is definite. A special meeting will pass a pay ordinance set at 12000 dollars while two council members face recalls or exit Tuesday.
