University Hospitals to launch new health plan in 1990s
University Hospitals of Cleveland will start the QualChoice plan on January 1 mandating it for 5,000 employees and dependents. The plan offers financial incentives to use UH doctors and network facilities and will be offered to Case Western Reserve University’s 4,500 staff. Walters says it aims to protect market share and revenue amid a hospital bed shortage in the region with Mt Sinai cutting units and other UH network hospitals considering the plan.
