17 Year Old Fire Truck Fails To Respond For The First Time
Firemen report their 17 year old Number One engine failed to start after an alarm in Carlisle Township. Engine Number Two and a Central Station truck responded. The float in the carburetor had stuck, cutting off fuel, but was fixed in minutes. A house fire on Miller Court caused minor roof damage from chimney sparks. Neighbors also fought a backyard tree fire sparked by a bonfire at Miss A Louise Baker's home.

Two Army Pilots Die In Lunken Airport Crash

Powhatan Mine Expands Workforce to 269 More Men
