Restarted collider lights path to new physics
Scientists restart CERN's Large Hadron Collider after repairs, aiming to probe matter and the Big Bang. The 17 mile tunnel beneath the Swiss French border will host protons sped by superconducting magnets into detectors, with first results expected in 2010 and higher energy runs planned toward seven times Fermilab’s Tevatron.
