Centre One plans multi-use education complex in Westlake
Westlake Centre One Management Co. aims to build a 23 acre education driven complex at Detroit and Bassett-Stearns Roads with a 10 to 15 million conference training center. The project includes hotel accommodations and zoning approval requires a special permit. Partners Dettelbach and Boylen previously opened Centre One in Eastlake a 6.7 million facility offering hotel recreation and dining services for members. The center features dining options including a public restaurant, a 100 seat cafeteria, private club for 100 members at 150 each, a countrywide computer access, two TV studios with million dollar equipment, an indoor pool and Nautilus center, a racquetball club, and a travel agency. Centre One expands as corporate training centers rise
Centre One concept grew from a need for corporate education and regional centers. The Southington, Conn. facility opens in March 1983 as part of a network including Atlanta and Chicago. Eastlake Centre One features 15 classrooms, a 600 seat auditorium, a 150 room hotel, and long term leases with Reliance Electric Co. The project targets high occupancy next year and draws major firms from the industrial sector signing up for training at the centers.
