Vermilion Treelawn Compromise Plans at City Council
Vermilion officials reached a compromise on the embattled treelawn in front of the American Legion post on Liberty Avenue. The plan allows 12 feet of grass on each end and 27 feet of concrete in the middle, amid disagreement over paving the entire 51 feet. A separate dispute involves a lawsuit over an uprooted tree tied to cement work. A pre trial is set for Nov 29 in Vermilion Municipal Court. The council also discussed possible changes to garbage collection and approved space leasing for court expansion and a rezoning public hearing for January 2.
