The Chronicle Telegram invites nominations for Peacemaker of the Month from EMH Regional Medical Center and NIE. Lorain County students in grades K through 12 who show that peace begins with me will be honored monthly in The Chronicle-Telegram.
Students study lavish real estate ads from newspapers then craft habitat focused ads aimed at animal species. They write ads without naming the species, using points that would appeal to the target animal, such as a squirrel seeking trees and acorns, and share aloud to guess the intended species.
Parade Magazine and The Chronicle Telegram NIE invite students aged 12 to 18 to design a mock Chronicle page for 2050. A winner will receive a trip to Ireland in 1997 after interviews with five finalists. Entries due December 20, call 329 7239 for details.
