Hair donations used as Norden bombsight cross hairs
Mary Babrick Brown donated 34 inches of hair in 1942 for the war effort. Her hair was used as cross hairs in a Norden bombsight for B-24, B-29, and B-17 aircraft, aiding bomb aiming at high altitude. She was honored in Colorado Springs with a special achievement award from the Colorado Aviation Historical Society.
