Crucial test of drive now faces citizens workers

A $500 reward was offered by the Lorain county board for the arrest and conviction of vandals who toppled about 75 tombstones at Calvary cemetery Penfield Junction last Friday night bringing the total rewards to $550 with a prior $50 posted by the Lorain county King Klux Klan. Cardinal Logue Dies After Thirty Year Primacy

Cardinal Michael Logue, Catholic primate of all Ireland, died at Armagh Palace on November 9 after years of illness and concern over bloodshed in Ireland. Born 1840 in County Donegal, he became bishop of Raphoe in 1879, archbishop of Armagh in 1888, and cardinal in 1893. Pastor contends wife died by self immolation in furnace

Rev C V Shearsley, pastor of a Columbus Lutheran church, told Prosecutor King he believes Mrs Sheatsley killed herself, citing a 14 inch furnace door and a neighbor’s tale of crawling into her own furnace. He said age and suffering may explain mental derangement and expressed remorse during the conference. Prosecutor King questioned siblings of the deceased.

Toledo bootleggers rounded up by state agents

In Toledo Ohio on November 19 state prohibition agents led by Deputy State Dry Commissioner F S Evans continued arrests of bootleggers. Thirty three were rounded up last night with a further one hundred to be arrested today. Evans said Toledo has 3200 bootleggers with 1500 on the East Side and pledged to arrest them all. He arrived to expose the situation and end the illicit trade.
