Westlake poised for hospital bid amid MHPC decision
Westlake moves to host a new 150 bed hospital for western Cuyahoga and northeastern Lorain counties after MHPC rejected Lutheran Medical Center’s North Olmsted proposal and issued a nearby site position paper. The council may urge MHPC to locate in the city, with Bay View Hospital seen as a potential partner in a unified West Side health system. The MHPC ruling signals Bay View’s role fading as Westlake houses the project, pending site approval.
