United States and India collide over Korea war cease fire terms as eight nations seek reconciliation. The Indian plan would form a five member POW commission and repatriation decisions, while Washington demands no force to compel return. The stalemate pushes Panmunjom framework into broader Far Eastern political talks.
Elyria Catholics will hold a solemn requiem mass for Bishop James A. McFadden founder of St. Agnes church at ten o clock tomorrow. Rev James Gallagher will celebrate and Monsignor William L. Newton will preach with other county priests in attendance. A separate mass in Youngstown at St Columba's Cathedral will be led by Bishop Emmet M. Walsh with Cardinal Edward Mooney presiding.
President elect Dwight D. Eisenhower said he does not know when his promised Korea trip will occur. He spoke at Augusta Airport after ten days of golf and rest and will begin a series of conferences in Washington before his inauguration. He plans discussions with President Truman and Republican leaders in New York after leaving Augusta.
The Rev. Davis O. McCamy will preach his final sermon Sunday as his resignation is accepted and the pulpit declared vacant as of November 23. The Cleveland Presbytery commission urged resignation of several session members and named a provisional session to serve until Presbytery arrives with a stated supply pastor.

Eight-year-old Joseph B. Louis of Winter Apartments Oberlin was struck by a northbound car near his home on Route 58 at 8 40 am. He was admitted to Allen hospital Oberlin for possible skull fracture and other injuries. The driver Gus Breunig 56 Route 48 R D 2 Oberlin said the boy ran from behind a parked car.
Mrs. Mary Ketterer, 83, of Cambridge Woodsfield, burned to death yesterday when hot grease from a frying pan splashed and set her dress ablaze.
Jolene Huber a seven year old Amherst girl fell ill at school yesterday afternoon. She was taken to St. Josephs hospital in a coma after a sudden lapse following lunch. Doctors tapped her spine and ruled out polio as they search for brain pressure with possible Cleveland Clinic review.
PORTSMOUTH Kentucky Alva Carr Adkins and his brother Woots Adkins aged 23, both of Vanceburg, were killed last night when their car collided with a train near the city.
In Evanston Wyoming a car crash along a snowy river road killed Rex Layne-Al Spaulding preliminaries participants. Fight managers Joe Levinson 47 and James How ard Bealer 44 and boxers George Harvey 21 Garfield Sisneros 28 Freeman Edward Loften 21 all died. All five were reportedly from Denver.

Elyria High School may withdraw from the Lake Erie League with a vote slated for November 26. The board discussed 60-40 gate-receipt splits and potential financial losses for Elyria if it remains in the league.
The Elyria Board of Education discussed high school expansion options including securing property on the O G Sheppard site and a second parcel. A special meeting was set for next Monday at 9 pm to consider bond sale legislation.
The Lorain county board of elections asks county commissioners to place two voting machines in each of 1731 precincts. Of ten men from the Elyria board examined, five acceptable, three rejected, two undetermined. Of eleven men transferred to Elyria board, eight acceptable, two rejected, one undetermined.
Senator Hickenlooper said the Congressional Atomic Energy Committee will review the hydrogen program with focus on security gaps in H bomb tests. He warned the world against aggressive war and noted investigations into restricted data and eyewitness letters from Enitwetok describing the hydrogen bomb test.
Sen Robert Taft said he recommended to President elect Eisenhower certain men for the cabinet but would not name them. He stressed his openness to Senate leadership but said he is not running for anything. Taft outlined budget aims of about 60 billion next year, with possible cuts limited by existing commitments. He listed six legislative priorities including budget handling, tax questions, the Reorganization Act, price and wage controls, Taft Hartley amendments, and a study of federal bureaus in health housing and social security.
Elyria City Council, on first reading, authorized contracts for a two and a half ton truck up to 4000 dollars and three police cars totaling 6000 dollars, plus permission to sell the replaced cars. Plans were filed for paving Longfellow and Hawthorne streets with estimated costs and the city’s two percent share noted. Bond passage for storm sewer completion was certified with 6185 to 3665 votes in favor.
