Attorney: Billing hour not clock hour in Elyria trial
In Elyria, former Bay Village attorney Jack Malkin, 37, faces trial on grand theft and 12 counts each of theft in office and tampering with records. Prosecutors allege he billed the county more than $5,000 for court appointed cases by inflating hours. Malkin defends a billing hour versus clock hour. Burge argues some services are worth set amounts and that billings were court approved. The trial, before visiting judge Edward J. Mahoney, continues with rebuttal possible.
