Santa plant workers receive surprise year end bonuses
Santa The employees learned they would get turkeys but not bonuses until envelopes with checks were handed out on Friday. Nellie Sanders from Sullivan described the surprise, noting she feared Christmas presents for her four children and eight grandchildren were at risk before the bonus arrived. The plant had previously given extra bonuses in spring and trips to Cedar Point, with others like Tans Samrd, Sydney Connerton, and Jim Smally planning to spend the bonuses on gifts. Plant manager Ed Sword said the bonuses were given to help workers now, not later, as the year was strong with a record shipment year. Precision Fittings, a division of Pipe Fittings Inc., has operated in Wellington since 1952, making pipe plugs and related items for aviation, automotive, trucking, and hydraulic uses.
