FERA Projects Extended Into Rural Ohio Areas
Columbus Ohio November 14 plans for cash work relief for able bodied relief clients in rural Ohio were announced by Adj Gen Frank D Henderson chair of the state relief commission. The program extends FERA work project activities into rural areas with county work division managers collaborating with rural rehabilitation supervisors to plan and maintain ongoing rural work programs this year. The aim is to employ all employable rural relief workers on approved projects, align jobs with their normal occupations where possible, select projects aiding rural rehabilitation and locate them to ease transportation. Rural relief workers on approved public projects will receive cash to meet obligations if no produce is sold, with credits for surplus produce valued at market price where applicable.

Private mortgage thaw aims to unlock housing boom
The program speeds up private funding to counter public works fears. It uses title 2 of the National Housing Act to insure mortgages, with 1926 price levels as a yardstick. Appraisers and agencies will manage insured loans, sold to national mortgage associations. Homes receive up to 80 percent value insurance, with private funds expected to flow back into the market. Insurance fees are paid by homeowners.
