Labor outlines program for relief farmers at National Grange meet
Hartford, Conn. November 14. Louis J. Tabor of Columbus, national master of the Grange, outlined a five point farm program to relieve farmers. It calls for lifting farm prices through production adjustment and cooperative marketing, lowering costs and taxes, fair value measures, sound land and water policy, and stronger Grange and rural organizations. He cited causes of agricultural hardship including loss of frontier, machine age disruption, corporate finance, and falling foreign markets, presenting data on declining farm incomes and tax sales while praising an eventual AAA approach to adaptive agricultural progress.
