Lorain garage chief loses job over on‑the‑clock affair

Lorain Civil Service Commission upholds the firing of garage superintendent Evan Evans, 66,780 yearly, hired 2005, amid an on‑the‑job affair with an auto parts employee. One member voted no. two members supported the dismissal after earlier misconduct in 2012 and 2013 prompted suspensions. Evans plans to appeal in Lorain County Common Pleas Court.

Engines removed from Akron crash site reviewed for analysis

Federal investigators removed both engines from the Akron crash wreckage and sent them to Honeywell for analysis. A cockpit voice recorder captured the final 30 minutes of pilot and co pilot dialogue as a foggy weather landing neared. Nine people died including pilot Oscar Chavez and passenger Nick Weaver. others worked for a Boca Raton real estate firm.
