Lorain County expands little library program
A Little Free Library project in Elyria opens a tiny book box near South Maple Street next to a community garden. The Stocker Foundation funds a countywide literacy effort led by Lorain County Educational Service Center to install about 30 small neighborhood libraries.

Second suspect arrested on drug charges in Lorain county crackdown
Lorain police say Antwan Taylor twenty was arrested during a 2 p.m. traffic stop at Meister Road and charged with aggravated trafficking in drugs possession of heroin and possession of criminal tools. A home search yielded 31 grams of a white powder later identified as pure fentanyl linked to 23 overdoses and two deaths across Lorain County since Friday. Narcan use has increased as Lorain County pilots try to curb opiate deaths.

Ridgeville Legion faces sewer hurdle for on site food service
American Legion Post 717 in North Ridgeville cannot prepare meals on site due to missing sewer connections 277 feet away and an estimated cost of about $70,000 for the project. Post officials say the expense blocks plans to serve food at weddings parties and meetings to support charitable and youth programs.
