Louisiana Governor Race Sees Cajun Woman vs. Indian Son
The Louisiana governor contest pits Cajun Democrat Kathleen Blanco against Republican Bobby Jindal, a 32 year old former Rhodes Scholar and son of Indian immigrants. Blanco advocates traditional public service. Jindal appeals to conservative whites and some black voters. If elected, Jindal would be the state’s first nonwhite governor, breaking historic barriers.
