A man in a crane suit piloted a light plane guiding 11 sandhill cranes in a 39 day 1250 mile migration from Wisconsin to Florida ending at St Martins Marsh near Tampa. The project aims to establish a migratory route for endangered whooping cranes and assess future self guided journeys.
