Strickland backs Clinton as Ohio key to 2008 race

New York Ohio Governor Ted Strickland endorsed Hillary Clinton calling her the strongest candidate to win the presidency and saying Ohio will be crucial in 2008. Clinton thanked him and invited him to the Jefferson Jackson Dinner in Des Moines with 9,000 activists ahead of Iowa caucuses. Strickland, elected in 2006, enjoys broad Ohio support and has been mentioned as a potential 2008 VP candidate, though he says he has no interest in the role.
