Land law push no obstacle to plants
The Conservation Foundation says environmental laws from the 1970s did not block new refineries steel plants or other industrial facilities. A three year study found no credible evidence that US rules forced large-scale plant closures or caused mass relocation overseas. It cites many facilities being built quickly with few environmental problems and says the idea of nationwide siting battles is overstated.
