Italian Troops Enter City of Makale

Six Yeggs Hold Up Mail Train At Garretsville

Federal inspectors and police hunt six bandits after a daylight robbery at Garretisville Ohio where they seized about $46,000 in cash and securities from a mail train. The car was traced to an east side Cleveland house, empty for months, as investigators review license records and security photos. Ask Transfer To Road Fund For Chestnut Ridge Road Upgrade

Ridgeville trustees sought court permission to move 5000 from the township general fund to the road fund for Chestnut Ridge road improvements. The 5000 represents the township share of a 327090 federal project to widen and surface 21 miles of the road, with future transfer to the county for maintenance to save about 590 annually.

Judge Overrules Objection In Bank Case

Stockholders of the Peoples Savings Bank of Lorain claim the bank is solvent while the Cleveland Trust Company disputes the assets valuation. Judge Philip Wilkins overruled objections as testimony showed the bank’s assets exceeded liabilities by 87 dollars on June 29 1935. The Trust took over the bank in 1935 to prevent collapse and holds a 457 000 loan balance secured by all assets. If the Trust’s claim is invalid, the stockholders face a double liability suit. further details appear on page 2.
