Elyria dentist Dr. Gerald Rubin dies after long illness
Dr. Gerald N. Rubin, 68, of Elyria, a longtime dentist and former Lorain County Dental Society president, died Sunday at Elyria Memorial Hospital after a prolonged illness. Born in Dayton, he served as an Army Infantry Major in World War II and held degrees from the University of Dayton and Ohio State University. Survived by wife Esther and two daughters, his memorial fund supports Temple B Nai Abraham in Elyria.

Prominent Lorain Man dies after yearlong illness
Richard M. Timms longtime Troxel Manufacturing chair and former Lorain County Savings and Trust director died Saturday in Memphis Tennessee at 76 after a yearlong illness. He lived in Elyria when Troxel was based there and moved to Memphis with company expansion. Survived by wife Helen Reynolds Timms and three children, his career included directorships and local media ties.
