Probe Epidemic of Porch Fires In Elyria
An investigation into a porch fire epidemic in Elyria is led by Fire Chief W X Bates and City Detective Lloyd Sweet. Four fires have occurred in about two months, with the latest on Hamilton Street involving partly burned materials left by guests. The first two fires hit Harvard Avenue homes late in August, both with inflammable paper on porches.
