Inmate who attempted death by own action still hospitalized
Lorain County Jail inmate Zachary Manilla remains in critical condition at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center after an attempt to choke himself with bedding in the jail. Manilla, 26, is awaiting trial on murder and felonious assault charges for allegedly stabbing his mother to death in August. The act occurred in the special needs pod and is under investigation.
