Independent voter ranks grow in Lorain County elections
The county shows a surge in unaffiliated voters due to a new counting rule by the Board of Elections. Since October last year, 24,499 Democrats, 50,000 Republicans, and 11,128 Republicans vanished from rolls, many moving to independent status as people missing three consecutive primaries shift to non-aligned.
