Blast at Texas fireworks factory injures dozens

At least 75 people were injured when a major explosion at a Houston area fireworks plant collapsed a restaurant wall and damaged nearby homes and offices. The blast sent a mushroom cloud and fireball into the sky as ambulances rushed victims to four area hospitals and police worked to control looting and traffic.

Marble Champions In State Tourney Today

Marble champions from the county competed in a state marble tournament with local youths Dyser and Dunlap as county winners. The event led to Cleveland where the state winner advances to the national championship in New Jersey next month. Wayne Shelly organized the Jaycee support and transportation for finalists.

Plumbers End Strike After Wage Increase Vote

Local 148 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union members, after a Monday strike over a new contract, approved a 15 cent hourly pay rise. They are set to return to work Monday as contracts are signed. Municipal Court Suit Seeks Crash Damages

A municipal court suit seeks 227.20 in damages from Howard C. Trott of 204 Corwin Avenue. Ohio Farmers Indemnity Company and Carl G.
