Better Schools Talk Highlights Three Cornerstones

Dr Roger M Shaw head of Oberlin College School of Education spoke at McKinley PTA open house on building better schools. He outlined three cornerstones: strong finances with public support for a two mill levy, improved understanding of child rearing, and home school cooperation to form better citizens. He urged a permanent esprit de corps and a proactive PTA to identify and solve problems. A brief business meeting preceded the talk with notices of a paper sale, a five dollar classes fund donation, a health bond purchase, and PTA council donation for refreshments. A film titled Pop Rings the Bell urged support for the two mill levy followed by a musical interlude and tea.
