Ohio race tightens as campaigns trade accusations

Bender filed a complaint with the Ohio Elections Commission over a Baird mailer claiming he had no plan to create jobs, though he issued a jobs paper earlier. Campaign funding sparks dominated by Bender’s charge of being bought by special interests after a $100 donation from a waste-hauling official, while Baird counters that Bender could owe his House vote to the Ohio Democratic Party with as much as $150,000 in support.
