Labor And Leftists See Election Boost For Power
Labor and left wing groups expect the upcoming general election to strengthen their national influence. Organized labor is a major campaign funder while ADA and similar groups back some 150 to 900 Democratic candidates, shaping party dynamics in the North East and West and challenging southern Democrats. In contrast, major Republican groups report about 1 million dollars spent, with CIO PAC and AFL LEA raising substantial sums to back their campaigns. Rail labor also spends to aid Democrats across several states.
