Court Withholds Confirmation of Sale in Foreclosure
Common Pleas Judge W B Thompson today withheld confirmation of a foreclosure sale against the So Nero farm of Donald Bartoto south of Oberlin until January. The farm may be sold by the sheriff this morning but the sale confirmation is held until a Federal Land Bank loan application is decided. If Bartoto secures the loan he will settle $6,600 owed to the plaintiff and may remain on the property. He wrote to President Roosevelt seeking relief and a Federal Land Bank Commissioner replied that the mortgagee was asked to postpone the foreclosure pending the loan decision.

The state reserves 153000 for the work, with total cost just under that, ensuring no city or county expense. Mayor W H Vanoster hailed the news, noting traffic on Federal Route 20 and relief needs, plus sewer installation and curb to curb repaving with a center parkway as part of the project.
