Woman Dies as Truck Trailer Crashes on Route 59
A woman believed to be Mrs Charles Sternberg of Tiffin was killed when a truck trailer toppled onto her car on Route 9 two miles east of Birmingham at 9 am. Thomas M Fox 32 of Cleveland suffered critical internal injuries and was taken to Amherst hospital. Fox is a sales man for the Seneca Popcorn Co. The truck struck a bridge abutment and toppled, crushing Foxs car as it traveled west. Deputy Hudak investigated the wreck.

Council Refuses Traffic Lights and Approves Several Installations
In a brief council session the body rejected two traffic light requests including Lake avenue near the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad to curb speeding. Five to four votes opposed the Chestnut and Broad streets light.
