Hamilton murder trial begins today in Elyria
Randy Hamilton 51 of North Ridgeville faces murder and related charges after a 911 call on Oct 25 2016 claiming he shot his wife. Police found Michelle Ryals 45 with a chest wound and a shotgun nearby. Jury selection completed but trial continued to today in Common Pleas Court.

New St Elizabeth Center opens as men’s shelter in Lorain
The ribbon cutting for Lorain’s St Elizabeth Center marks a men only shelter with 50 beds plus a lower level for hot meals and a pantry. Catholic Charities led the project renovating the former Polish American Citizens Club on Caroline Avenue and East 28th Street at a total cost above 1 million dollars with 687 500 from an Affordable Housing Program grant. Bishop Nelson Perez blessed the building after the event and volunteers welcomed attendees during tours.
