Faulty sensor blamed for Avon Lake water breaks
Avon Lake and Sheffield Lake suffered numerous water main breaks linked to a malfunctioning pressure sensor at the Avon Lake Regional Water plant. Todd Danielson says about 20 breaks occurred last Tuesday with more in the week, as aging mains and a long term replacement project continue. He notes no boil alerts were required.

Henderson bridge closure extends into weekend in Lorain
The Henderson bridge will stay closed this weekend due to unfinished sealing and striping after weather delayed work. Kokosing Construction says the plan is to close at 9 p.m. Friday and reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, with detours via US Route 6 and State Route 611.

Lions fund bracelet tracker program across six departments
Six police departments and the Lorain County Sheriff's Office now access Project Lifesaver to locate missing or wandering individuals with cognitive disorders. The program, funded by Lions Club fundraising, covers Avon, Avon Lake, Amherst, Lorain, Elyria and LaGrange with a $10 monthly fee and family support for affordability.

Man Wounded in Lorain Gunfire Near Bars
Lorain police investigate two shooting incidents from early Sunday and Monday. A 26 year old man, Wayne Blue, was shot in the leg near East 28th Street while a car attempted to flee with him inside. Police found 10 to 15 shell casings near Fillmore Avenue and G Street but no victims were located and witnesses were uncooperative.
