Lorain County Secretary of State Bob Taft named former county Auditor Jay Pijor the fourth member of the Lorain County Board of Elections. Pijor, who served as auditor for 22 years, will serve until February, with two Democrats on the board alongside Republicans Tom Smith Bob Rousseau and John Blevins.

Lorain Action Center of Greater Lorain County seeks volunteers for CITY SCHOOLS and LORAIN COUNTY programs. Volunteers will assist with transit around the county Monday to Friday and some weekends. Meant to deliver meals from Methodist Village Senior Center to routes, with licensed insured drivers. Program Aide duties at Senior Achievement Center include staff support and morning setup after events. Youth volunteers should be eager to help local nonprofit philosophies and job opportunities.
