Route 83 Overpass Opens Early in North Ridgeville
The Route 83 overpass on Avon Belden Road near the Ohio Turnpike opened three months early, costing about 4 million dollars. Mayor David Gillock and ODOT Deputy Director Thomas O Leary led the ceremony behind the Shawville Overpass name. Finishing work including cul de sacs should be done by mid July.

Kelley trial opens with brutal kitchen struggle and throat cut
Assistant Prosecutor Frank Janik described Shawn Kelley assaulting Tanya Kennedy and attacking Tammy Lutz and Chuck Baker at an Amherst Township home on New Year’s Day 2005. Baker testified Kelley punched him and stabbed his throat before Lutz escaped. Baker recalled using a frying pan and then stopping the bleeding as he hid in the kitchen.
